Today was the day of feedback sessions with the parents. It was a pleasant experience to share my observations about the little genies in my class with the parents. It was also very satisfying to hear from parents that they have observed changes in their children ever since they attended geniekids.
Today i am feeling a bit emotional that the little ones from my class are soon going to other schools or other cities even. It was an enjoyable experience throughout the year and i have learnt a lot from each little genie in my class.
Looking forward to more in the next academic year.

Convocation- Trupti Aunty's group
It was the last PCD for this year and also the day of convocation for all the little genies in the BOOKS CLASS. It was a very emotional day for the children, parents and the facilitator alike. We started off by playing a game or two where the parents enjoyed along with their little ones. Then after a refreshing snacks break, we had the convocation ceremony for all the Genies. They were called one by one in the center of the room and were made to sit on a special seat. They were then given little button buddies with their strengths written on them and were made to wear a convocation cap and were also given a certificate. It was a very touchy moment indeed. All the parents and children had joy and pride on their faces and we really enjoyed the whole ceremony.
Thanks to all the moms and dads who made the day special for their little ones.

Final PCD- Shivani Aunty Group - 25-3-08
We had a fun filled day today. All Parents came today, we played games of hide and seek, parents had to find their children with eyes closed, children made the game exciting by keep very quite and ran away when they came close, there was a lot of excitment and everyone enjoyed. Then we all read story books and made our own ulta pulta stories which were so hard to believe, we wondered and laughed together !! Our emotions activity also went on well as we all wound up agreeing to continue story at home.
All our special Genies got certificates and special caps, we sang a song congratulating them and everyone rejoiced together, followed by our favourite dance.
We also bought articles remaining from the Mela, collected our files and left with a cheer.
Thank You one and all for Joining in !
Three Cheers to our Khojis, Happy Holidays and great learning times ahead!!

Bone Art- Trupti Aunty's Group
This week we are doing activities on increasing the awareness about our bodies. Today we touched our body and identified all the hard parts called the bones and then used them to create a piece of art by dipping them in paint. It was very interesting to see the little genies trying to paint with their elbows, wrists, knuckels, nose tips and even knees. I am sure they will remember their bones for many days to come having used them in such an interesting way.

Laxmi Aunty can repair anything!!!
Today's activity was about time and we were exploring different ways in which we can measure time . It was really very interesting to see how the little genies came up with different ideas to do that.
I started off with a story about how a seal fish has a problem that his clock is not working. The moment i asked what can the seal do now, all the genies replied in unison that he can give it to Laxmi Aunty who can repair anything.
Thanks Laxmi Aunty for repairing our book covers, replacing our clock battries, etc. All the genies now understand how capable Laxmi Aunty is !!!

Pimpo!!! Alien- Trupti Aunty's group
Yesterday a ficticious character was introduced to the class as Pimpo the Alien. Yesterday Pimpo had given us some special task of sorting out and keeping the toys in their relevant boxes. All the genies were told that Pimpo had recorded his voice on a tape and had sent it for us. As i turned on the tape with Pimpo's voice coming from it, it was fun to see little genies peeping inside the tape recorder to find Pimpo inside. They even talked to him through the speakers.
Today we were all waiting for Pimpo to come to our class and we were wondering how he must be looking etc, and as i turned on a tape on a smaller tape recorder (not visible to the genies), they really were taken by surprise that Pimpo was really talking to them from some corner of the room. Since Pimpo was telling us a story today, it was indeed fun to watch all the genies trying hard to listen to the story.
We are still wondering if Pimpo will come to our class tomorrow.....

Girija Aunty -2-3 years - 11th Feb -15th Feb-MASTI
Hi,
Last week was our sports week and each day our little genies explored and experienced different games. The games which they enjoyed most was rolling on the beds and pillows. From the word go they were on the bed some rolling it out , jumping on it , lying down requesting to switch off the lights etc. After all the exploration we decided to play a different game and set up the bed as slides. They all waited for their turns and one by one they were climbing up and enjoying themselves. One little genie was so excited she kept saying kitna masti hai na?? Another little one said aunty aap bait jaon hum akale khelange!!! Some much so for facilitation....
Thanks

Aunty why don't you take medicine?- Trupti Aunty
Today the genies in my session wanted to know why I did not come yesterday and when I answered them in a croaky voice that i was having a bad throat and could not talk, i could see concern written on their faces. Then after a while one little genie came to me and said, " Aunty, when my mother is not well she goes to the doctor and takes medicine. Why don't you do the same?" I was touched by the concern expressed by this genie and told her that I had already done that so that I could come back to school today and have fun with them. All genies said that they missed me yesterday. I was touched by their response and it surely will motivate me to keep taking the bitter medicine for a few more days so that I get to enjoy the company of my little genies everyday.

Churning curd-Trupti Aunty's Group
Today a little genie came in in the morning asking me why was there a picture of buttermilk on the board outside? I kept saying to them that it is a surprise and the genies waited and guessed what it would be till after the snacks break.
We then opened two dabbas of curd, put the contents in a big bowl and churned away for some time. We saw how the curd was changing and now looking like cake batter to some little genie. We then added a little salt and water to it and enjoyed our khara lassi asking for a second helping as well. Even those little genies who had refused to take it in the first round gave in to temptation and asked for a helping when the others were having a second glass. We really had a nice experience with the churner today.

Shivani Aunty- 2-3yrs- Of strong muscles and soft hearts !! - 13-2-08
Was on leave for two days since I was not keeping well. Hadn't met khojis since last friday and was feeling a huge void in the last two days, we really missed eachother!!! Today was realy nice when I got to see them in the morning, One little khoji who never wanted to join Shivani aunty's class came running in the morning with a bright smile and gave the most loving hug!! A big thanks to her for making space for me in her heart
Our day was interesting as we churned curds and sang a song with three languages in it. We also had fun with our feedo activity and playing and trying to catch balls. During that time somebody tore our feedo ( teddy bear) to whom we were feeeding colorful balls ( which were lollipops). Suddenly there was an air of concern for feedo, followed by a meeting by the khojis, of the khojis, for the khojis. Analysis, of how feedo was torn, of what happens when we don't take care of our things...Solutions of how to repair it and expressing emotions and sadness for feedo was all a part of the discussion.
Our day ended on a happy note with lots of fun trying to catch the ball in handcups.... As we were leaving one khoji showed his strong muscles and said -'Aunty you can hang on these muscles' and when I tried , he dismissed me as being too big :) The offer was still worth try....

Girija Aunty-2-3 years-Pottery
Hi
Yesterday we explored clay in a different way. Initially everybody took clay and started making balls and chapattis and making snakes. Then Aunty asked then aunty showed them a machine and asked them how we can use this machine and clay. For which they kept looking at the machine and looked at it up down etc trying to connect it . Then I switched on the machine and kept some clay on it and slowly one child said " yeh to woh uncle ne kiya tha"". Slowly one by one they started talking about how uncle put water and how he gave us the pot. They tried to make their pots but they realized their machine was very slow.
they all enjoyed exploring clay.

Girija Aunty- Welcome
Hi,For the whole of last week I was waiting out to welcome our little genies in the morning. Each day we are doing something different. The look of expectation in the eyes of our genies made me want to do something different everyday. One day I kept two carton boxes through which they had to pass. Some of them had big bags with them so they could not pass through it . Suddenly one little genie said like in the airport I can pass my bag first ( my thought she connected it to the conveyor belt) and then she moved in others followed. But it was nice to see them think without any help. Great way to go !!!!Girija Aunty

Shivani Aunty - Skills - 28-1-08
Today was a day when we met different people from different professions through the pictures in our room. We met Doctor Uncle, Mechanic Uncle, Policeman and a farmer too. Out of the above, we decided to be Doctors and Mechanics. Wrist bands were given to each, we tried reading the different letters on the band then enjoyed being doctors - checking and treating patients. As Mechanics we were keen on wheels and cars, some of us explored the spanner and tried fixing nuts and bolts. Wheels also rolled to see how far they could reach. Before we realised, our pickup cards arrived and we sang our way home - Bye Bye Doctor......

Shivani Aunty -Movie time - 24-1-08
We took a journey into an imaginary world today as we watched a Movie made with hands(our theme for the month).Children were seated in their respective seats and eagerly watching, some were so involved that we could see them trying out different hand movements as they watching the movie. Fingers were moving in attempt to make a character, some hands were flapping like a bird, some were swimming like a fish. While one little Khoji settled happily in his seat and joined his hands together and sang the song- Raghupathi Raghava.......

Girija Aunty-2-3 years Measuremnets
Hi
on friday we were doing an activity on measurement using only our hands. Most of the genies wanted a big hand print as aunties. So with paint they kept two hands together and said it is same hand as aunties. It was nice to see how they were involved in spreading red colour on their palms and they kept doing it till they were satisfied about the hand print. The best part of all this is when they try and put up their work on the walls and looks at it with admiration!!! Way to go genies.

Shivani Aunty - 11-1 08 - Measuring measuring !
Our session began with song and dance to Gumbare Aagumbare, each of us added our own movements to it, each and everyone of us participated. As our activity began all the khojis sat in a circle, waiting patiently for their turn and also following painting codes. We measured how tall we are with a strip of cloth and marked it with our hand prints, counting how many hands we had on our cloth strip. Then we compared it with the black board, cupboards, notice board, friends, fingers, ponytails etc, observing which was longer or shorter.

We were observing our hands, colored htem with red paint and took hadn prints on paper.looked for all the things that we have on our hands- found stright lines and curves, also a road ! One child was very happy because a baby sister was born for her yesterday, she said that the baby had small hands and even her fingers were very small, the expression on her face was very cute and with her hands she was trying to indicate how small the baby was !! We are thinking HANDS- the theme for this months activity.

Hair dryer-Trupti Aunty's group
Today was the day of Machine fun as the genies in my session called it. We explored the hair dryer today. To dry hair, we need to wet the hair first was the reaction of many genies. But some were worried about being scolded by mother for getting the hair wet. So we decided to use a capfull of water to wet our hair and then dry it off. It was fun to see them splashing the water on their hair, and then using the dryer to dry it off. It was even more interesting to see their reactions to the blowing hot air. Some said it felt nice since it was very cold in the morning. We had a good time with our machine of the day as we all called it-the hair dryer.
